I know sometimes when you are feeling ill and in pain you do not really feel like eating or don’t have the energy to. But it is very important to maintain your energy levels. Having five small meals a day can help maintain your energy levels. If you wanted to you could have two of them as snacks. Sometimes I like to have smoothies as a snack, they are filling and a great way to get your five a day. By eating properly you can help regulate your sugar levels, which will make your energy levels more stable. I got into the habit for a long time of skipping breakfast and sometimes even lunch. This caused me later on in the day to get so hungry that I would over eat or crave sugar and carbs. Eating like this caused me to become so sluggish, dizzy, feel sick and i just wanted to sleep. My stomach was also dodgy as i starved myself for so long, then finally i would eat loads later on in the day and my stomach was like ‘Whats going on?’. Eating this way caused me to get stomach issues. You should try to get up in the morning and eat breakfast, then you can always go back to sleep if your not feeling good. Its good to meal prep, so when your feeling bad you dont have to mess about preparing or cooking food. You could also get yourself some healthy ready meals or pre made sandwiches, pastas, salads ect. By eating regularly and having smaller portions I feel much more energised and my stomach feels so much better.
